Honour and a Code

This came up recently and I figured I'd spent a little time thinking in this old place and write my thoughts on the parts of my code I have had cause to define in recent times.

Suffer not the dishonourable to live. Those who commit the sins so dark no light can ever redeem them deserve to suffer for their crimes. Nay price is to great and though the cost may be immense the cause for action is just and right, but it must be remembered there are laws that protect the dishonourable. Be it the law of those that govern or the laws of those you respect.

The darkness within us all is for none to behold. It belongs in one of two places alone, the first of those is buried deep within where it can do no harm to others and the other is in true darkness, where neither city light nor people's grace makes night light. Nor where the moon or sun can cast it light and give play to the imagination of men, only there can the mind risk letting those thoughts emerge. For there none shall suffer the darkness within us all.

No matter which path you walk, one must always be true to themselves. If nothing else this is the principle of function and living that gives cause to any code a person may dream to live by. For this gives you focus and the determination to carry out that code with honour and grit, nay with much more besides to lend strength to your resolve.

Faith is power in itself, for you are not alone. Remember this well for in faith you have more strength then you do alone, be it faith in something beyond yourself. A god or goddess perhaps, or perhaps simply those you love or treasure. Faith is our shield and it gives us the ability to be more then the sum of our parts alone.

Respect must be earned nay given. It is all well to respect another and it an important thing in itself, however never give it out before it is earned. For that tarnishes the very idea of respect and it makes it less then it deserves to be.

More then this I do not yet have reason to define and it is suffice to say this is but a flavour of who I am.
